Letters to my readers
October 3, 2020
Dear readers,
Yesterday, October 2nd, 2020, it was officially announced that the pandemic has reached the White House—Trump and his wife have been infected.
I’m writing about this because I know that from now on an avalanche of noise is going to come from the Trump’s campaign to try to control the narrative and to use what is happening in their advantage.
In my view, this fact is not going to be able to hide Trump’s inhumane debate performance of the past Tuesday, September 29th. Most people are outraged, embarrassed, and ashamed of Trump’s despicable behavior against Biden. Since Trump has nothing to bring to the table, the only thing left in him is his putrid noise.
No matter what happens, we will never forget the separation of thousands of kids from their migrant families at the border and the “unspeakable horror they were made to endure,” according to journalist Jacob Soboroff, in his book Separated, who was first-hand witness of this horror.
We will never forget Trump’s downplaying of a pandemic that has caused the death of 209,764 Americans, and counting (source: NBC NEWS, October 2, 2020). All those deaths could have been prevented if we had counted on real leadership. According to ABC News, 65% of Americans do not approve of Trump’s handling of the pandemic.
We will never forget Trump’s message to white supremacists: “Stand back, and stand by,” sent during the debate against Biden.
We will never forget his enablers: republicans in Congress, his republican donors, and the entire apparatus that surrounds him. Please go to my post Optics I in my blog to get more acquainted with what I’m talking about.
Trump has shown no mercy to anyone he considers inferior: women, people of races different from his, and the underprivileged. He might have been able to be better off than most in this country financially, but he’s certainly not better than anyone else.
The Presidency of the United States is there to serve its people, not to transform it into an excuse to treat everyone else as subordinates in an effort to convert the office into a pitiful reality show. It’s the highest political office that this country has created for a reason. A reason; not irrationality driven by a marketing machine that would stop at nothing to decimate their opponent.
Please stay safe. Wear a mask, gloves, and a face shield when in public to protect yourself and to spare the lives of those more vulnerable. Because you might not have symptoms, but you certainly are a potential spreader of this unpredictable virus.
