Letters to my readers

July 16, 2022

Dear readers,

We are leaving the original Omicron variant of the coronavirus behind to face the BA.4 and BA.5 new variants, for which there are no vaccines ready yet. According to different reliable sources, the new variants are more contagious, but less lethal. The same type of preventative measures are advised as before, such as the use of masks in public, populated places, the avoidance of enclosed rooms shared by a number of people, and much care when in contact with others, especially in areas were the contagion rate is high.

Just like you, I wish this was over, but it’s not, so together we need to pull in the same direction to get out of this situation as soon as possible.

The downfall of Boris Johnson in the U.K. is everywhere on the news as we speak. It looks promising, but don’t get your hopes up yet, because his counterparts in his party are not very different from him, they are all same old same olds.

Judge Ketanji Jackson was finally sworn in as an associate justice on the Supreme Court of the United States, on June 30th this year. I hope this is a sign of a future favorable to all women, especially to low-income women, since they are the most affected right now by the outlandish, mansplaining opinions that couldn’t be more out of touch with the times we are living in.

I’m always here for you, because you and I are not that different. We all need patient care, love, and consideration.

I wish you all the best in your constructive and creative life.
